DJ Rap

http://www.djrap.com

For the past few months I've had the opportunity to work closely with one of the worlds biggest DJ's. DJ Rap. She is first and foremost known as a drum n bass dj. Hence her moniker "The Queen Of Drum N Bass". I'm here to tell you that she is much more than that.

I've come to find out that she is above all other things a fan of music. She seems to have a genuine love and appreciation for all styles of music, not just drum n bass. I've received a number of emails from her with recommendations of new songs and artists to check out. Songs she just happened to find on beatport, itunes or youtube. The emails often read like this... "Adam, I just found the most amazing song, I can't stop listening to it. Heres the link check it out". Its hard for her enthusiasm and love of music to not rub off on you.

DJ Rap is also a record label owner. Propa Talent and Impropa Talent Records. My first Dubkiller Dubstep release came out on Propa Talent. Go Get It!

I've had the chance to see her DJ a few times now, and let me tell you she steals the show every time. Watching someone do something they love and are really good at is a beautiful thing. She full on brings the energy and the party to the people. All you younger djs take note. Its not just about playing music, It's about creating and transferring energy and excitement.  Do yourself a favor and go see her perform live.

I know this is starting to come off as a DJ Rap Tribute, but its probably due to my lousy writing. That being said I still have a couple more things you should know about DJ Rap that you probably don't.

First, shes a really good songwriter, She's shared a few gems she's written and sang that could be on the next Coldplay album. She's also a pretty darn good producer. She knows her way around Logic better than I do. We have some amazing new music we've collaborated on I can't wait for you to hear.

One last thing, and this you already knew. She's pretty easy on the eyes.

Go check out her website, buy some good music, watch her online new music show, or read her blog.

I swear she didn't pay me to write this.

Peace

Adam aka DUBKILLER

stop motion drum and piano

This video has been around a while but its truly impressive. Heres a guy with no musical ability making a really cool and catchy song/video through stop motion video editing. Really creative and super cool. Two thumbs up!

SFLogicNinja "Logic Tutorial Videos"

If Logic is your weapon of choice for creating music as it is mine. At some point you'll have a question on how to do something. So if you need to figure out how sidechain, use the automation feature, or sound replace a drum sound... theres a pretty good chance that SFLogicNinja has the answer in one of his video tutorials. He knows a hell of a lot more about Logic than I do and I've referenced his videos more than once to find out how to do something in Logic.

Youtube in general is an amazing source of knowledge. Whenever I need to find out how to do something I go to youtube first. Granted you may have to sift through some crap but more than likely you'll find what you're looking for. Plus its free!!!
